Adopting one of the animals in our care

She loves going on walks Ebony but Bianca will walk quicker, she walks well on a leash but she is a flight risk and should not be left off her leash, she also has no recall. He is food orientated and behaves better with treats. Tuga enjoys walks but doesn’t like his lead being put on or taken off. He is possibly forgetful, as he has become aggressive towards humans who have not interacted with him for a few weeks.

PEPSI

13/12/2017 – Female

Pepsi is dog selective and can be aggressive towards other dogs if she feels nervous but most of the time she is fine with other dogs. She loves human attention and cuddles and is very playful. Pepsi has 3 legs but it doesn’t effect her mobility. Pepsi Loves walking which she does on a lead, she walks at a good pace and will stop to roll in the grass and may expect a belly rub. Pepsi needs someone who is understanding of her behavioural issues and willing to help work on them with her. Loving and firm and suited to an adult only home.

She is scared and can be defensive when receiving medical treatment like injections and blood tests. Sitting with her and making her relaxed and feel safe before treatment is recommended, she can be touch sensitive on the back and lower part of her body.

Pepsi does have a bite history with people, the reoccurring pattern is when she is feeling nervous around other dogs. Make sure she is given plenty of space with dogs she’s not comfortable around.

Recon is an older boy but still has lots of energy. He enjoys going on walks and walks well on the lead. He is dog selective and can show aggression towards dogs he doesn’t like. He has never shown aggression towards humans. He only pulls towards dogs he doesn’t like and because of his strength would benefit from a stronger, firm owner. Recon knows his basic commands. He loves being stroked and groomed. He will lean into you for a cuddle and thinks he’s a lap dog. We think he would be suited to a family with children over the age of 13.

Sometimes Recon can get anxious, especially around loud noises. His behaviour has improved a lot since he has been with us but it is worth noting his background and whether he might suffer from PTSD. When Recon is anxious he tends to cower away or urinate.
