HUMANITARIAN WORK

Breaking the Chains International are committed to helping the vulnerable and voiceless of the World, whoever and wherever they might be. This is what drives us as we fight to break the chains and end the repression of animals across the Globe.

Whilst we are now recognised for our work in tactical animal rescue across the world, what many of our supporters do not know is that we also work tirelessly to relieve the suffering of humans too, via our humanitarian relief projects in Ukraine.

Our primary mission will always be to rescue and relieve the suffering of animals affected by war and crisis. However, we understand that to help the animals, we must also help the humans. By providing humanitarian relief, we aim to build resilience within communities, ensuring that the animals left behind can be cared for by those who remain.

Our organization has designed survival bags specifically for those left behind in Ukraine’s most remote regions. These bags provide access to clean water, lighting, cooking facilities, warmth, and a means to stay connected to loved ones. As former military personnel with expertise in survival, we understand what is needed to combat the harsh realities of war. Thanks to our partners, The 100 Rugby Legends, we are able to throw a literal lifeline to people forced to live in the most heartbreaking conditions.

We are also working with the 100 Rugby Legends to renovate ruined community buildings in liberated villages to create community hubs. These spaces provide a safe and central area where villagers can gather together to cook, clean, and access tools necessary to rebuild their homes. Community Hubs provide a place for children to continue their education and offers communities a refuge where they can share stories, comfort one another and pull together to heal from the trauma of war.

We also deliver much-needed medical aid to some of Ukraine’s most isolated hospitals, thanks to partnerships with the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain and Baby Lifeline. We also support local orphanages who have become part of our family here in Ukraine. They love meeting our four legged friends who provide relief and comfort in these dark times.
