Specialist Tactical Animal Relief
Breaking the Chains International specialises in extracting animals of all types and sizes to safety from dangerous and arduous conditions around the world.
Breaking The Chains International was originally founded as a media company providing free media content for animal rescues organisations around the world to raise awareness to the neglect and abuse animals across the globe face on a daily basis. It was founded by British Army veteran Tom S-N who made it his life’s mission to make the world a safer place for any and all animals.
After Russian forces invaded Ukraine on February the 24th in 2022, Tom and his close friend Steve put their extensive military and combat experience to use again by entering Ukraine with the sole purpose of extracting animals in desperate need from the conflict zones. Within a few weeks, Breaking the Chains International became the most well-known and effective animal rescue team working inside of Ukraine due to their capabilities of operating inside the conflict zones.

After Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24th, 2022, Breaking The Chains International Founder, Tom and his close friend Steve drove a campervan from Bulgaria to Ukraine with no plan, but a goal of saving as many animals as possible. They knew their extensive skills and experience acquired while serving in the military could be of use in such an environment. Little did they know their operation was going to quickly expand, and what started as a two-man crew extracting animals from conflict areas, quickly grew into a full-scale operation involving over 100 ground crew members and volunteers.
As an element of Breaking the Chains International, Specialist Tactical Animal Relief (S.T.A.R) team first came to fruition during the war in Ukraine with the sole purpose of extracting animals from the most dangerous conflict areas in the war to safety. The STAR team was developed because of the effectiveness of the ground team operating in Ukraine.
Along with military experience, they also have experience in urban search and rescue, rural search and rescue, rock climbing, firefighting and a vast array of other technical skills and qualifications. With these skills and their teaching and instructional capabilities, they decided to extend the reach of the STAR team from Ukraine to globally.
With the team constantly on call to respond to natural disasters, conflicts or other major incidents where animals are in need, the STAR team can be rapidly deployed to these areas of need at a moment’s notice.
